Translating macro Earth Observation data into micro-climate engineering. De-risking Controlled Environment Agriculture (CEA) through scientific validation.

Sub-Zero Spatial Modeling
LINKED ENTITY: SHIFT GROUND AXIS
Millions of dollars in agricultural capital are deployed annually into Northern communities with staggering failure rates. The core issue is not ambition; it is thermodynamic and spatial ignorance. Developers attempt to drop standard greenhouse blueprints into extreme continental climates (Dfb), resulting in catastrophic utility costs, structural freezing, and abandoned assets.
The soilOS Intervention: We sit strictly upstream. Before a single shovel hits the ground, soilOS ingests European Space Agency (ESA) Sentinel-2 multispectral imagery and runs sub-surface thermodynamic simulations. We validate the exact thermal mass, solar orientation, and soil salinity of a site to guarantee viability.
FIG 1.0 - PREDICTIVE SPATIAL DE-RISKING
soilOS is built upon three proprietary research platforms. Click below to explore the clean-tech mechanics driving our ecosystem:
We pull and refine optical and thermal infrared data from ESA Sentinel-2 and Landsat. By analyzing the Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) and surface moisture stress, we identify regions suffering from severe urban heat island effects. This data dictates precisely where physical micro-forests or closed-loop CEA structures will have the highest cooling and economic impact.
Traditional heating fails in the North. We simulate Ground-to-Air Heat Transfer (GAHT) networks. By pushing daytime thermal gain deep into buried sub-surface pipe networks, we utilize the earth's stable thermal mass (which remains above freezing year-round) to naturally heat agricultural structures at night, cutting mechanical HVAC requirements by up to 50%.
Data without implementation is useless. soilOS translates complex modeling into pre-validated, scale-ready physical blueprints. These "kit-of-parts" schemas (like the Naturhus models) are handed off to our downstream partner, Shift Ground Axis, ensuring that local youth are building infrastructure that is already scientifically proven to work.
Grants are a catalyst, not a permanent business model. To guarantee organizational autonomy and fund community projects long-term, we developed Shea by soilOS—our commercial agro-botanical arm.
Drawing on our Sankofa roots, we leverage our advanced CEA microclimates to cultivate and process high-value botanical yields. By translating agricultural science into premium consumer assets (such as specialized botanical extracts and climate-resilient organic products), we create a high-margin revenue loop.
To map urban canopy health from space, we process multispectral bands measuring Near-Infrared (NIR) and Red light reflectance. Healthy biology absorbs Red and reflects NIR.
Identifies exact locations for infrastructure triage.
Modeling the physical energy required to sustain biology at -40°C. We calculate the active thermal gain transferred to the soil mass through continuous air routing.
Eliminates 50% of dependency on grid utilities.
